black acrylic?

Hello!

I am starting up a refugium and I want to partition part of my tank with black acrylic so that the fuge light doesn't get in there and cause algae growth. My question is, is black acrylic (ex: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Falken-...t-Falken-Design-ACRYLIC-BK-1-8-1212/308669435 ) inert? I worry that it is simply transparent acrylic treated with something that may leach into the water.

Black Acrylic is perfectly fine. I have used it many times.

I have used black vinyl over the clear acrylic of an existing refugium and sealed all of the seams with black silicone. This worked great for me.
