I know this is an old post but there seems to be an abundance of wrasse knowledge here. I currently have a 180gal mixed reef, 2-3" sand bed in areas. Average abut 1.5". I currently have a purple, scopus, gem, convict, blue eye kole, desjardini tang, along with black cap basslet, cardnial, 2 clowns, tail spot blennie, red mandarin, CBB, splendid dotty back, carpenter flasher wrasse, redfin wrasse, and cleaner wrasse. I would like to add a black backed wrasse. I have read endlessly about the shipping issues, and some of the other issues associated with these fish. I have been successful keeping other "expert" fish, I have gotten several hard eaters onto frozen food in the past, I would not say that I am an expert reefer, but I would say that I am experienced, or seasoned. My question is, first is there any of the above fish mainly the wrasses that would pose an issue with the tamarin? And second, is there any other reason other than shipping that one could think of as to why I wouldn't want to try adding this fish? I also have a 120 reef, and a 150 frag, and 22.5 reef that I could move a fish if someone felt like there was a compatibility issue. Just looking for a reason why I shouldn't buy this fish that would have to do with compatibility, or another reason that I don't already know about. Thanks. Hope I am not out of line by asking here.
