I think you will be fine with just the LEDs. Sounds like you have a good plan though.
Looks much better now coverage from front to back. I just need to play with positioning to minimize shadowing now

5 is enough. thanks for the tip on removing the lenses on some. I dont have any disco issues so I'm good thereThat is good! Did you go with all 6? Also if shadowing is still an issue the you could try removing the lens over the diodes. You will lose some PAR but it will help with eliminating the spotlight and disco effect and help with more even coverage. I have all lens removed from my white channel and love the results.

I do have an apex and too many neptune add ins for that matter. I would like to see how that can be done. Honestly never thought about doing it but I definitely would be interested in seeing how it's done. I'm more of a creature of habit and I started with t5 on a 40 breeder then when I bought a 90 gallon I had t5 then went with the viparspectra then next upgraded toba 220 and thought I just had to have t5 mostly was talked in to it by someone else in the hobby. I never could find a bulb combo I liked so I finally gave up and decided to go back to the viparspectras. Almost immediately had better PE on all sps and colors are better after just 3 weeks. Now I just need to dial in the positioning of the boxes and I will sit back and watch things hopefully take off.
I also saw a huge improvement in coral growth when I upgraded the LED board to the SB REEF boards it's has a more true uv spectrum at the 380nm-420nm
But here is the link to the thread for how I got it done, took tons of research but I was glad I did it, let me know if you try it.
Question: VDM dimming on Viparspectra black box lights
Hello has anyone successfully set up 0-10v vdm dimming on these lights? Im looking into it if I find a solution Ill post about it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalkforum.neptunesystems.com
Well if you good at soldering you could build your own board, I gave my friend my old boards and he made the same exact board as the SB REEF. with the right led layout. Thanks for that suggestion but I have had an issue with a warranty claim with sb reef for over a year now and I cant even get a response from them now after many promises. SB was the boxes I wanted to buy but I cant at this point recommend anything from them nor spend any more money on their lights.
