i used an empty plastic bottle (reef nutrition copepods) and drilled 5 or 6 holes in it and put pieces of drinking straws cut about 3 inches long in the holes and put some food in and a piece of rock to weight it down and closed the lid. worked the first night for me. still have it in case I find more hitchhikers. got the idea on YouTube. I can post a pic if interested

idk how big he is but if he won't fit through the straws, I'd try some extra rubber tubing you may have laying around

Well after all this time. I finally caught it. Although I ended up cutting it in half. It’s your if you think it will survive the severed tail.

How is it that the tail can still be alive after it was severed from the head ? It’s been 24 hours and it’s still alive.

Ive heard the tail can grow a new head in some species and once prepared to spawn thats actually how they breed. The last few segments break of and swim around releasing eggs and sperm but they segment dies after uts done

I just did some research and learned that they can indeed grow new heads and tails. Interesting.
