Mine stay orange for the first two days. Next they look brownish and even black on day 3 and 4. Somewhere around 5 I start to see eyes and then 2 eyes in each egg. They usually hatch the next day. While all have their own time- mine have hatched every time after lights out on the 7th day
youre not raising them, so when they hatch theyre just coral and fish food. i would go ahead with business as usual and do your regular maintenance and feeding habits.
you need to transfer them before they hatch or there wont be anything left to transfer by the time you notice they hatched.
*edit* Unless you dont mind staying up late after lights going out and keeping an eye on your eggs after they turn silver and have their eyes and look ready to go. Some people have better success doing it this way just pulling them out of the DT as they hatch but if you fall asleep and dont catch it until morning that theyve hatched it will be already too late by then.
But if I try to take them out before they hatch, won't it be harder since both clowns will be attacking no matter what? Ps: I don't mind staying up late lol
Mine are in my DT. My husband built me a larvae catcher. We put it in right over the eggs on the hatch night. First try we captured 50+. Second try I got only 15. They all died. Going to try again Friday night as they should hatch the next eggs then.
Began hatching rotifers and tigger pods when I noticed the eggs. I do not live near a LFS that sells any live food. I purchased the rotifers and food for them and food for the tigger pods all on line. Most of the info on hatching rots and raising the fry came from ideas from others on this site. They basically were swimming in food for the first week and a half. After they reached 1 week I purchased APO Chromo size A online. Another post on this site recommended to begin feeding small amounts of this food while continuing the rotifers. I also began feeding a small amount of tiggers at 2 weeks hoping they had more nutritional value. I am feeding the rotifers RG complete I also am still adding this to the tank with the babies to keep the water tinted a light green. I do clean the bottom of the tank daily and I have been using small amounts of water from my display tank to replace what I siphon out. I hope this helps you. Most of these things I have read on other posts and am just trying.
Idk. Someone said the baby brine can be feed within 12 hours of the brine hatching otherwise they get too big but I don't know. If you haven't got rots you could try. I couldn't get the brine shrimp to hatch this time myself
