Black detritus

Good morning friends,

Last week much of my chaeto died, texture change to be soft and could easily be removed. Last Monday I noticed that the bottom of the compartment where I place the chaeto, it was full of detritus, about 1/2 "detritus of black and stinky.

I'm not sure that kind of detritus ago and also made me believe that it was to blame for most of the chaeto died.

Anyone know why it happened is that kind of debris?

How I can avoid it done again?

Was there sand in that compartment that turned black or was it just a black detritus buildup?

It was just detritus, in the behavior not use sand. Only 3 stones and chaeto above.

No, as 11 months ago been cleaned him because I had to remove all the sump to do a job in the PVC pipe.
But never clean as part of maintenance.

No, I do not use peroxide.

hmmm. not sure what else would take out the chato like that. was it a long slow down turn?

The chaeto for my hard as 9 days to die.

But that detritus black and stinky think it's something that was already there and I think that was what made the chaeto died.
