In most cases you don't need to glue the PVC to the rack depending on frag tank size and how tall you want the rack from the set face make sure you cut the PVC to size put in all 4 corners if a large piece put one in dead center use if you can 2-2.5" PVC for max stability and no wobble. If and if you want to do so drill straight threw the PVC and put a zip tie to ensure maximum stability. But that's just a option don't have to do so. We just sit the rack on the PVC.

Forgot to add if you have some glue that you use for frags you can just put a ring of glue around the PVC top then lay on the rack and it will stay won't come off unless applying pressure

Great advice! I'll order some black egg crate from brs but for now I guess I will use the white. If I ran a tlf 150 reactor with gfo in it will that be ok to soak up the extra phos? I have acros coming next week

Also wondering about how high from the water surface to hang the 24" 250 sunpod MH that I'll be using. I don't want to burn the frags or not have it close enough. It has blue and white leds also and a brand new bulb. Plus, how many hours should it run?

You should really start playing with acrylic! Find a place that sells it wholesale in your area. Buy scraps! A router and drill and start making all kinds of stuff! I used the black bird netting for my diy screen cover from home depot as well!

Acrylic is expensive at home depot. I built my sump for 25 bucks in scrap.

Home depot in a once a month trip for me. It's 35 minutes away so I have to go to Lowes (10 min). I'll check lowes for it tomorrow.

Not too sure it will do it as much as it should but you will deff have a alge problem but nothing a few Mexican turbo snails can't handle. After a week you'll be fine. We were bare bottom for a hole the. Converted it I to a 1.5" sand bed cause we had fish and the poop as well as other things were sitting at the bottom so had to syphon ever day.

So if I run it 4-5 days and change the water Thursday right before the frags come, maybe that would be ok. It should take care of the worst of it and the gfo the rest. What do you think?

Just make sure you test your levels before you add anything cause you would not want to kill anything or put into a. Harmful habitat .

I'm also not used to MH lighting so the distance of a 250 watt unit from the corals equally has me concerned.

I made 3 height levels. The left side has an area for taller frags that need a little bit of shade also.

When the black egg crate comes in I will do them the same.

Now to have enough frags to fill it with lol

Looks great not sure how your gonna clean the bottom though. Idk if you will have to though.

I left a gap at the back of the tank to be able to slide tubing under it for vacuuming
