I am planning a new 180/210 build and I want it to be a primarily dartfish (and sps) tank. I was at an aquarium in Phoenix a couple of years ago and saw what looked like a black fire fish goby with some blue spots on it. Amazing looking fish! Has anyone seen one of these, or does anyone have any clue as to a species?

Hmm. Only goby-like fish I can think of with blue spots is the blue spotted jawfish but those are pretty orange/yellow
If we're going more the black dartfish route, I can only think of the two tone dart fish. I'm stumped

Ptereleotris evides, have a black black and blue markings near the gill plate. It's the closest species I can think of that's like the a firefish. They are great in groups as well.

I'd also consider ptereleotris zebra if you are doing a firefish tank as they are good as groups, peaceful and hardy as well.

Oh wait maybe a goby in the genus Asterropteryx, commonly referred to as stary gobies. They're usually black or grey and have brilliant blue spots.
