Black Friday Generator deals....

As the Midwest was hit with a huge ice storm I realized just how ill-prepared I am for a power outage.

I have read a handful of threads saying to use one type of generator over another to protect your sensitive pump and electronics.

With the holiday shopping season upon us has anyone seen a generator for sale that would handle the average aquarists needs?

Thought this could be helpful for some of us.

I have watched so many generator videos that I was dreaming about the. LOL My wife says that I can be oblivious, I mean obsessive. It really depends on what you need to keep on, if your are in a cold state maybe everything, so a large inverter style generator.
For me not a cold region I need a basic one for the refrig. So the best two deal I found are Tractor Supply Champion 2000 model for 399 and the deal that I am going for is Costco Yamaha 2000 model for 545. that is nearly half price off. You can parallel two suitcase type inverters to get double the power.

I purchased this for the reason my power is always going out,. 2 Saturdays ago I finally used it for it's intended purpose.


If you do buy a generator break it in properly and buy a magnetic oil plug

Check Harbor Freight, they're super cheap on regular price, I'm betting Black Friday you could pick up 1000w genny for around $100
