Hey guys
All of the yellow tangs in my LFS came down with this-
9 in total, spread over 3-4 x 20 gallon tanks in a rack system (maybe 60 tanks total) all sharing water. No copper in water (confirmed with hanna checker) all eating fine.
Range in size from 2-4”, not the same shipment,done have been in store a while, but it set in over the Christmas break.
If we confirm Black itch, I’ve been told treatment is formalin baths and prazipro. If I can confirm diagnosis, I’m thinking of trying to get 2-3 to treat in a 40b- id Love to treat all 9, but I’m pushing capacity at 3.
May be moot, owner might be able to treat if it’s prazipro. He was bummed he was going to maybe have to cull a bunch of YTs.
