Is it normal to see black ich appear after the first dose of Prazipro when it was not visible before the treatment. Tang has been in quarantine for 5 weeks and treated with metro soaked in his food, and now Prazipro going on 4 days and I am now seeing the black grains appearing on his skin. I was treating him for suspected flukes but was not expecting to see black ich after treatment.

Turbellarians (black ich) are sometimes resistant to praziquantel, so either 1) Hyposalinity or 2) Formalin baths can be used to treat instead.

Thanks Humblefish, I just thought it odd he didn't have it before I started the treatment and now is showing spots. I haven't done the second treatment yet so will see if that takes care of them.

Black ich disappeared after the second treatment with Prazipro, I did a 3rd treatment just to be on the safe side. Then I watched the tang for 2 more weeks and he is not showing any symptoms. I moved him to the 180 a week ago and he seems to be fine. Thanks for all the help.
