I’d just wait it out then, how long ago did you notice? If it progresses you’ll need NFG, I’m assuming you didn’t use that and copper.

If the spots grow in size at the same location it’s an infection, most likely. Though it odd to be on two fish I’ve seen this before.

Could be black ich or even a type of trematode... like @4FordFamily said, all basically different types of flukes. Freshwater dip followed with prazi (2 doses 5-7 days apart) should do it. If not, there’s hyposalinity or formalin.

Freshwater dip, add vitamins and garlic to food and maintain water temp at 78-80degrees during treatment.

very common in tangs, mainly yellow tangs and freshwater dip is successful as is teramyacin with treatment

I did a FW dip today and put them both back in the tank. The black oval on the anthias got bigger and on the angels tail it stayed the same. I also dosed my 1st dose of prazi on sunday. How long will it take to come off?

Do you have an updated photo? Have you started any antibiotics... just in case? Like mentioned above, if it’s getting larger in the same place it could be infection...

I have nfg metroplex and kanaplex. Do u think the angel hase the same thing as the anthias? They r currently in copper.

I think NFG is a better ABX but it will harm your biofilter so you’d have to watch out for ammonia.

Looks like it, I’m pretty sure NFG isn’t advised with copper so I would just dose the kanaplex + metroplex for now. 10-14 days, dosed every 48 hours. It’s advised to do a water change before each dose (or as needed)

If the infection has not cleared up after 14 days, I would transfer them out of copper into a clean QT and follow with a course of the NFG without the copper.

Edit. Furan-2 can be dosed with the kana + metro as well for the widest spectrum.

I could be wrong (I haven’t used NFG yet personally) but I think @HotRocks has mentioned not using NFG with copper. Rather using the trifecta, and following with NFG after copper? Maybe he can chime in and set me straight lol
