I was looking at my tank and saw this this morning and am wondering what it is. Hope the pictures are good enough to help if it, I turned the white lights on and it started to move into the rocks.

correct
i asked an lfs if i could buy some but they weren’t for it even though they had tons of them
only ever had the white/pink ones
love these guys
I am planning on keeping lps, and anemones, will it pose any problems? Also, how would it get in the tank? I have added a few small corals, and an anemone, but my rock was dry after sitting in my garage for 10 years.

Probably came in as an egg

the start really small and can hide in corals
usually resilient
they don’t pose problems and are very good at keeping tight spots that are hard to reach clean
problem came in on a frag as a baby
if you have more than one you’ll slowly get a steady population that will grow and shrink with food available

Ok, thank you. Pretty cool looking, hopefully they stick around then.

One of the best algae eaters you can rarely but and is stomatella

that’s a scutus snail aka elephant slug
(very beneficial, unless you run sps)

could be a stomatella too,
hard to tell…
harmless if so.

but if it’s foot is spread out like this…

then it’s an elephant slug
(and they’re not kosher with sps!)

I have only seen it a handful of times, but have never seen its foot spread out like that.
