I’ll try and post some pics when the full white lights come on

I can’t help with the specific question but I can bump the thread to see if we can get any answers for you

I've had a couple of my cleaners arrive like this, but it goes away with the next molt. My unscientific guess is something like bruising from shipping/handling. If it were mine and everything else looks ok, I would not worry.

It was fine when I got him. I wonder if he is being stung by my new elegance coral....

All I’m thinking also is should go away with a molt. As long as not acting funny I’d think it would and should. Looks superficial

mine has had spots like this before and was fine after the next molt, i would check tds of rodi water and probably do a water change in case iodine or something was too low

Ok, I have some news on this.

I don't know how well it transfers to marine shrimp. But I saw a video of a praying mantis with some black marks on its belly.

Turns out that it was an infection that is not treatable. Have you researched infections in shrimp possibly?

I’ve tried to read up on it and search for other forums discussing the same topic. Same situation as here with mixed responses. I think once he molts, I’ll be better placed to know the situation. I just hope it’s not contagious if it turns out to be a disease

You can see the old skeleton to the right of the leather

I’m pleased it was nothing to worry about.
Thanks for all your help!
