So I have a bio cube 29 set up in addition to my 255g tank. In it are 2 beautiful black Ocellaris Clowns.... ( wife’s personal fish lol)...
About a week ago after these 2 Clowns being alone for 7-8 months, we added a Neon Dottyback.... and they almost immediately became best buds.... all three of them! They are always together and it’s like the Clowns accepted him into the group as if he belonged... really great to see and honestly I can 100% see a step up in the Clowns activity throughout the day and it’s obvious everyone is enjoying the new company. The Dottyback was in one of those 1 gallon row tanks in a LFS. Anyway just wanted to share a cool new friendship between fish that can be known as fairly aggressive... particularly the DB....

Nice pics, thanks for sharing! I noticed the same behavior with my pair of clowns after I added my longnose hawkfish. The clowns are a lot more social now and they explore different areas of the tank instead of just hiding in their corner. Hopefully your clowns and dotty will be buddies for life. :)

Interesting. Usually established clowns are pretty fiercely territorial. Keep an eye on it though just to ensure it's not shadow and intimidation type behavior.
