I have a pink ******* chalice that has developed black coloration on the edges and near the mouths. The color is still present and the flesh doesn't appear to be unhealthy. It is just got some black on the areas described above. Has anyone dealt with this kind of issue before? Is it maybe a lighting issue like to much or little? I would post a pic but can't get one with iPhone. I will try though. Any advise would be awesome

When it is under white light the black is not as apparent. It is seen under the blues though. What kind of lighting are you guys using and how much light would you recommend for this chalice. I use led lighting and I have yet to find a spot that it seems to like. I know that's not a lot of details on my lighting. But I've never used a par meter on it. I guess I'm asking if you would put it up with your sticks or down low with your zoas

its in my girlfriends granmothers tank. its a 34colona 20x20x20 under a current USA MH fixture 150W double ended blub (HEXARC BLUE 14k) the fixture is about 4 inches from the water. i have the chalice about 4 inches up with a med/high flow. Great amazing color, thing is bright as heck like its under LEDs but not. im using a wp25 back left top coner of the tank blasting on the front glas thats where my chalice is. also other coral there too.

I have mine in a 60g cube with a wp25 in the back right blasting the glass as well. My led lighting is 9in off the waters surface. 42 diodes (3watt Cree) on mean well drivers. 24 blue, 2 red, 4 green, and the rest are white. The white and blues are varied with royal blue and cool white. I run the blues at basically full blast and the whites are at around 40-45%. 12 hour period. Blues come on at 130 and ramp up to full at 630 and then ramp down to off at 130. The whites come on at 330 and ramp up to full at 630 and the. Ramp down to off at 830. Any thoughts?

Is normal. Mine pink ******* obtained that when it was growing over edges, but I don't see it anymore since it already covered it.

I keep this chalice kinda high up in the tank. Probably 8 inches below the surface. So 17-19inches from the light fixture.
