Black or Transparent egg crate for lid ?

hi, i was planning using egg crate for my lid, which is better? black or transparent? is transparent will reflect the light?

In the US most is white and that is what I used.
Is there any difference in the strength or brittleness of the black or transparent?
Just based on looks I would choose the transparent.

Hopefully all of your fish are larger than the egg crate holes. You’d be surprised at how many fish can jump right thru them!

that being said, I think transparent will look brighter

Transparent as it will allow light to pass through it into the tank.

Based on the picture, looks like the transparent would reflect light. Might just be the picture. Anyway, on my tank, I used the white due the bing what my local hardware store had in stock.
