I have a cyano and dyno issue it seems and I cut the tank lights out Wednesday afternoon. How long would you suggest keeping them off? Most of the brown is gone but the cyano is holding on. I can't seem to figure out the problem. PH between 8.2 and 8.3 nitrates and phosphates undetectable. Going to try to change my T5HO bulbs next.

i did 4 day blackout when i had dinos and that was sufficient......there are different types of dinos, so it's important that you know what kind you have - not all respond to treatments the same way. i did raise my NO3 and PO4 and that has helped a number of things in my tank, including keeping the dinos and cyano away.

I'm not sure which one I have but raising those levels? Never even thought to do that. How would I?
