Black ribbon eel fungus

Can anyone help me identify what is wrong with my black ribbon eel. It looks like some kind of fungus

ese guys are messy housekeepers and often react to high nitrate levels. Assure nitrate and ammonia are not elevated
Safest treatment eels and sharks is general cure in a separate sterile tank

More background information is needed; how long you've had the fish, is it eating, what other fish are in with it, etc. This post explains all that:


Ribbon eels seem to have issues keeping track of their tail ends - other fish can bite them there, causing serious damage, and the eels don't seem able to keep their tails hidden from that.

External fungal diseases are very rare in marine fish. It could be a secondary bacterial infection though.

As a side note - that lionfish I see is pretty good size, if it gets hungry, it might be able to eat that clownfish.

Also post water parameters. Is alkalinity very high or pH low? High nutrients?

Yes I know so far so good I feed him every day
I wanted the lionfish in my predator tank but he was trying to eat my two bar gobies bad idea getting the lionfish lol
