I really like the look of black sand and I am thinking about going that route for my 40 gallon in the works!

I have seen Caribsea Hawaiian black available but the grain size is rather large.
Has anyone tried Natures Ocean black sand?
If you could tell me how you like whatever black sand you have and post a pic if possible that would really help me decide! Thanks!

(I know it can be magnetic)

I had a fowlr with the black sand, It was cool for a while, but the sand particle size was just too large for me, and the white sand just made the tank light up. My personal preference of course.

i use hawaiian black it’s a bit more course than I wanted but looks good, probably go white on the 60 in the works

Don’t settle for a substrate that you don’t love. Pick the right one and you will be glad you did! I had really large grain aragonite sand in my previous tank and I absolutely HATED the way it looked. It was just what I could get locally and I settled lol

Yeah I decided the Hawaiian black is too large for my taste and going to go with the fiji pink instead.
