black sand?

I used it 2-3 times on smaller tanks that I had put up and tore down, and I liked it quite a bit! No downfalls that Im aware of.

From what I understand it is magnetized and will stick to your mag float. It did my buddies tank anyway and left little scratches.

i think it's so fine that it easily gets trapped between the mag float. i've had fine black and fine white and they do the same.

I used it for a while and mine never was magnetized but I have heard that some can be. The biggest issue for me was that it made the tank seem like it had less light. The black just sucked the light up. I am talking about to the naked eye, I am sure not to the actual light output. Anyway, I ended up adding white to it, and made a mix of black and white, and it lit up the tank right away. The light reflects off white sand but not black. Just my experience with it.

Well that's good to know because I really wanted to try some black sand myself.
