Black slug like creatures.

I've looked and I haven't been able to find a picture of something like this.

Anyone know what I've got here? I just got a reef used and the rock is loaded with these.

Are they actually slugs or is it a black sponge?

There are some funky looking sponges.
 
Are they moving? I got black sponges with my gulf rocks, which receded over time. Don't think they do as well in an aquarium, at least in the orientation I had the rocks with respect to light and flow.
 
They are pretty attached to the rock, they can be removed with some work. Wont nessisarly come off in one piece. They are slimy and fleshy and grey on the inside or underneath.They don't seem to move

As mentioned, pics of the creatures in the water may be helpful, but these most likely are either tunicates or sponges (so they're most likely harmless filter-feeders).
