Reworking rock and found this , Ideas?

I don't see the photo either. Hoping it is a black stomatella though. I have one in my tank and he is sweet.

Sadly, the photo's not showing for me. (Which could very well be my machine...)

It was late, sorry to leave you hanging. I found this on the back side of some live rock, He definitely doesn't like the light, as soon as i turn the rock he High tails it to the underside.

Does it stretch out at all, have eyes or antenna? How fast does it move?

yes he stretches out and and has a body just like a snail, is over an inch and definitely has a face but was hard to distinguish the features, the hard shell is like a Pistachio shell, just covering the topside, at first i thought it was a beatle.

Sure looks like a black Stomatella snail to me ... Pretty cool detective work, @Dsnakes!

This guy's a fine member of your cleanup crew, and will browse algae from the rockwork all night long, if you let him. Stomatella comes in a lot of different colors, including geometric patterns and a mottled "coralline liverock" look.

It looks like a cowry, to me, maybe Cypraea asselus or Luria isabella.

If it's a cowry and you touch it, it will pick up the cloak and show its shell.

Best Regards

I'd say if you have one, you have a few more. Mine stay on the rocks during the day and when the lights go out, they cover the glass. They reproduce readily.

I tried to remove to get a better look but he was stubborn and as soon as i let go he started traveling to the underside. Definitely not Bashful other than not liking the intense lights.

@Dsnakes Congrats on the recognition of excellence! and you must be, you knew what it was without even seeing it !
