My white goby has a dark spot on its face, I was wondering if I could get some help with identification and possible treatment?

I’m not sure I can see it, are you talking about the thing that looks like a pimple below it’s jaw?
We’ll need more background info, take a look at the link below my name here, it gives info about what is needed to know.

Yeah it's the pimple type thing. It could just be a wound but I didn't notice it yesterday.

Ah, you may not be able to see it if you are on a phone. The same link is in the sticky files at the top of the fish disease section titled “helpful hints”.

It's a fish only tank with four fish and a few inverts
salinity 1.023
filtration is a HOB Tidal-55
the ammonia nitrites and nitrates are fine
the PH is around 7-8
temp is 78f on the dot
This is also the first I've seen this issue
No other problems with anything so far
Tank is a month and a half old

Yeah it's the pimple type thing. It could just be a wound but I didn't notice it yesterday.

It does look like a minor injury. That could become infected, but there really isn't any treatment you can use in a display tank. Is the fish still eating ok?

Jay

The fish is acting completely normal and it mostly inhales when moving around.

Jay
Yeah it's eating great

Well, I don’t see any really treatable issue here then, hopefully it’s just a minor injury. Watch it closely for rapid breathing or lack of appetite ….
Jay

It's now starting to breath faster and the wound has grown

Just checking - the spot is only on its left side?

You may need to consider moving the fish to a treatment tank, there isn't really much you can do for it in the DT. If you have to leave it there, about all you can try is Ruby Reef Rally Pro.

Ok thanks, yeah left side

Sorry to hear.

Can you lift up the gill covers and look inside? If so, they should both be red on a freshly dead fish. Pink means anemia and white eroded spots means bacterial infection.

Pink I believe, I didn't see this until now because I don't have notifications on
