I just noticed the tip of one of my torch's tentacles is black. I previously saw this in a dying Indo green torch I lost about a month ago. The Indo Green was not near anything that could sting it, but it was close to rockwork which I thought could have caused it to be damaged. This Torch is near a Frogspawn. Could this be a battle scar from being close to the Frogspawn?

Could be euphyllia stinging eachother as stated above, also could be livestock nibbling at it. Anyways what fish do you have in your tank?

I have not seen any livestock nipping at corals. My stock list is:

Pair of O.Clowns
Blue Striped Goby
Starry Blenny
Coral Beauty
Royal Gramma
Yellow Coris Wrasse
Melanurus Wrasse
Leopard Wrasse

Peppermint Shrimp
Cleaner Shrimp
Serpent Starfish

I do not have any hermits in my tank or bumble bee snails.

Noticing the same thing on my HG. What ever happened to your torch? Did you ever figured it out?

Sorry for the late reply, but I ended up losing all of my Euphyllia to vermetid snails. I do not believe that is what caused the black tip as that torch survived for awhile before the being affected by the vermetid snails.
