Black Spots on Chalice - What is going on???

This is must have happened this morning because it didn't look like this last night or even 3 hours ago. This has been one of my healthiest looking frags until now. What is going on?????

Whats your Alk number ,, I would think it would be white if it was a Alk problem though ,,

"black" may indicate a bacterial issue. Watch for tissue necrosis. If it's shedding tissue, dip it in some coral dip and then some lugol's solution (iodine).

Alk is 8.2 and it generally sits around that number. Nitrates are pretty dang high so thats likely a contributor to this. I do weekly water changes every Wednesday but may sneak another one in today to help bring that down.

Ok I have a little white lined combtooth blenny and I just saw him pecking at it. I have never seen him bother corals but he may be the culprit here. BAD BLENNY!!

You chalice looks like it's being nipped at. Unfortunately once it starts it usually doesn't stops.

I wish he picked a coral I liked less or one that was less expensive. Little jerk just got himself a pricey little snack.

You have any Chatto growing ? You really don't want to depend on water changes to help with Nitrates ,, maybe research this a bit ,,
