Black spots on leather coral

I’ve had this leather for several weeks and he’s been completely happy. Today I Noticed these black spots pop up suddenly and are causing concern. I’ve been doing a small amount of dosing with Reef Safe Medic Polyp Lab for ich on a new sailfin tang and dwarf Angel. I’m watching my corals very closely and wondering if it’s related to the ich treatment or something else.

hi,black spots are not good,any chance undisolved salt landed on? look like burn spots to me,watch for progression ,keep us posted..

Thank you so much! And YES it could be salt. I added a glass canopy last night that finally came in after a few months. When installing I noticed salt from the rim of the aquarium falling into the tank. Didn’t think anything of it at the time but I’m certain salt could have fallen on the leather. Attaching another photo. I used a flashlight to pinpoint a white light and get a better view this evening. The black Mark actually looks more like a whole in the white light.
