-i have a 44Gal brute i store saltwater in. bin is about 2.5 months old.
-i use tropic marin salt.
-i didnt have a powerhead in the bin at first for circulation, had a odor coming from bin, put in Phead, no more odor.
-the powerhead has been used for my coral dips as well. i use coral rx, and make sure i clean the Phead generously afterwards.
-i keep the lid cracked for ventilation.
-the streaks i noticed are "growing" overtime, they didnt all just form last night, but id say they are forming quicker now.

thanks for any input.

Does your powerhead move around while mixing? Wouldn't explain the last picture, however, they look like two separate issues.

so lets say i take it out and put it back in, ill have it on and kinda move it aroudn to nessle it in the crack from the indent on the bottom. you can kinda see from the pciture, once its in that position it stays there.

Hm, not sure then. My first thought was just the black plastic rubbing against the bin. Have you tried scrubbing? If it comes off super easy it's organic material, algae or mold, if it doesn't then it's physical.

I have the same in my mixing container. I’ve read that it’s down to a caking agent in the salt and shouldn’t prove harmful. I give mine a good scrub every few months just to be sure.
