Does anyone know what this is? What caused it and how to treat it?

Thanks :)

Encrusting sponge. You may want to gently remove it; it could overgrow the zoas.

The polyps that have this on them appear to be shrinking. This is why I am questioning it.

Could be an algae or bacterial issue, it happens to my people eaters all the time, don't know why either.

I cave a single cats eye polyp in a small colony that has what you're describing on your thread. Plus took off a huge chunk fro my whammin watermelon colony. The ww's got better but I can't remove it from the single cats eye. This paly shown has something a little different from the other.
