Hello,

I am moving fish from holding tank to dedicated at tank. From there they will go through 35 day hypo-salinity treatment.
I want to do a fresh water dip before moving them to new tank, my question is after fish being dipped in fw should I put him in old tank and than do drip acclimation with new tank water and move ? Or take him from old tank and do fw dip and put him in new tank ?
both old and new tank will be same temperature and salinity .
please advise
Thank you

FW dip to new tank But if you are doing hyposalinity (1.009), you can alleviate the FW dip before release to new tank.
I just moved 37 fish from old tank to tubs and then to new tank but I acclimated them as If I just purchased them and all went smooth

Honestly, if I did this, I would just move directly from one tank to the other. With consistent temperature and salinity, the only other issue I might consider in pH. But my tanks are very consistent from one to another for these measures.

Hi, I wanted to do second fw dip because fish looks so much better after the first one I did yesterday. I literally saw multiple worms coming of it.
and by the time salinity reaches to 1.012 it will be 48 hrs or more and don’t want the fish to have any worms stay until than.

I am doing the hypo salinity at 1.012 for 35 days.
will be slowly decreasing the salinity in next 48hrs.

I see now. 1.009 is standard hypo target . So for your knowledge, , , You can safely drop salinity quickly as I recommend, remove a quart (i use quart chinese food cup) and replace with RO water right away
You can lower quickly BUT must raise slowly
