Black tubes and yellow stuff

Any ideas what these black things on this rock are? The yellow stuff?

Could we get close-ups under white light (ex. with a flashlight)? The irregular growth looks like sponges, which are harmless filter-feeders and part of a healthy tank ecosystem. Air exposure will kill them.
