I been looking for some decent size bta for my 75g tank which is just more than a year old. I call the LFS to check on it every now and then, today LFS near me have a black widow bta about 4" in size.

I am thinking of picking it up, is it easy or hard to keep specially this one is bit expensive?
Will this be a good host (hopefully) for my two blood orange clowns?

I have had a green BTA in the past (many years ago before my tank crashed by kids mistake)

Please give me your feedback. Thanks.

All bubble tips are the same nem, regardless of the fancy names they have. So a black widow isn’t harder to keep than the green one you had.
The nem will probably host the clowns but it’s always a waiting game.

in my case black widow ($200 ) is cheaper than sunburst or rainbow ($240)
I haven't seen it yet, both the LFS is an hour drive in opposite directions.

Here is the black widow, they just sent me the pic.

Have you checked the selling forums on here , Craigslist, offer ?
That doesn’t look like a black widow

I am not sure but thats what they told me, he also said its rare to find now a days

Here’s my black widow I picked up for $240 that was like 3inches when I picked it up. It hosts my 2 gold bar maroon clowns since the second I put it in. It’s over the length of my hand now. It’s hopefully the only anenomie I’ll ever own. Love it

Here's mine. I got it about 3 months ago from my LFS for $50 (!!) because they didn't want the hassle of trying to pry it out of the rock it came in after they bought a bunch of splits from one of their customers! I think they regretted it once they saw how big it was when I posted a pic of it on our local reef FB group. It's been wondering around the past few days after the rainbow it was next to split. The BW sting hasn't killed anything yet and so far both the rainbows and BW have been pretty happy in the tank.

just be careful not to overpay for a rainbow or rose BTA. there are some distinct characteristics that the more expensive ones have. the nem should be 3-4 times the size of your clown for best results

Nice

I think black widow must have speckles on either disc or tentacles or both, right? Like the ones I have in my avatar
