how old/new is that tank? I don't see a spec of coral line in the first photo from when it was added

I totally agree with Amoo. The fact that your rock looks brand new and we can still see the purple cement holding it together, coupled with the fact that your 2 month later pic is just showing algae on the rock, I am guessing you added the nem right after your cycle. Or within a month of your cycle ending. Waaaaaay to early for a nem.

Also - your first picture of it, doesn’t look quite like a BW. May just be the image but the red isn’t deep enough and i don’t see the dark base. It may also be that your lights are primarily white and your spectrum has little blue. If your light is just that white, and your par levels are super high, you might be bleaching the nem.

I’d suggest sharing more about how old is your tank, what is your lighting and flow setup, and what are your ammonia and nitrate levels.

Tank had been about 9 month old. I had done a complete rescape of the tank prior to adding the BW.

That thing definitely doesn’t look great, but anemones are pretty resilient in my experience. Hard to give advice with so little info though. Parameters, lights, lighting schedule...
