wassup everyone,

i been feeding my fish live blackworms. I was wondering if you could feed them dead ones? Can you freeze the dead ones? Or are you better off just feeding live ones and throwing away when u see no movement in the containment.

I feed blackworms a d have for years. I keep mine in the smallest Rubbermaid/Tupperware o tainer that comes with the pack. Instilled holes in the lid and keep the works in the fridge.
I go through about 3 oz a week. By day 7, there is a source in the bottom.. The dead ones. I try to keep that stuff out of the tank...

i don’t feed the dead ones if they look like they’re starting to fall apart, but i rarely get to that point. i wouldn’t bother freezing the dead ones.

i buy two “portions” at a time, store the live blackworms in a plastic container (like the kind for chinese takeout for soups or pho) and keep it in the fridge with the lid (no holes). two portions generally lasts me one week.

i rinse with fresh (refrigerated) water every other day when i pull out the amount of blackworms i want to feed the tank; drain excess water; put back in fridge.

the feeding portion i let soak with 2-3 drops of liquid vitamins for 15 minutes before i feed the tanks.
