Started appearing only on this one rock in my tank but it rapidly growing I even see some black on top of parts of the sand bed and on a few other rocks on the other side of the tank now what is this and how do I get rid of it? Is it normal part of the cycle and i just have to ride it out?

so is this normal part of cycling?
Yes, it's dino's ;Nailbiting!
How long has the tank been set up? There are some great threads here on how to get rid of it. In my opinion, it' the hardest one to get rid of and it can be toxic to corals and fish. I've been fighting it myself for about 4 months. I chose a different approach and am using oversized algae turf scrubbers. I noticed it liked growing on my scrubber, so I made another one running on a reverse light cycle to my display. It's mostly moved from my display to the scrubbers. Instead of scraping the algae off the scrubber, I just rinse it and rub my fingers over it. This removes the dino's and leaves the GHA. After a few months, the dino's have been getting less and less.
