Thanks mate! I can't wait for it to get wet and stocked. A few things to do before that though
Hopefully picking up some LR tomorrow or at latest friday, so it can start cycling in a bin.
Then I need to decide on what/how I should do for doors/sides on the stand, and need to find someone able to make my thoughts reality. I don't have the skills or tools to pull that off

Just means a bigger sump is needed
Haha maybe even a bigger tank?
No but if the sump is too small, I'll just move some of the baffles/dividers a bit and make room for the skimmer.It "should" fit hehe ;Nailbiting

Got a bit of a punch in the face today... My never ending battle continues, Dino = gone, Cyano = gone but:
Found AEFW in the tank, bitemarks on 3-5 acros (3 with solid bitemarks, 2 more with suspicious looking tissue)
Basted all corals and a total of 7 fully grown AEFW came loose.
Can't find any eggs though, but they're there somewhere.
Now I need to decide how to do this, I might try UWC Purge but not very confident after the very mixed reviews, and it costs 3x as much here compared to the US...
Already dosing KZ FWStop daily, started again basically a week ago randomly. Will continue daily.
Pretty sure the AEFW came in on the latest addition, which I dipped ofc, but I must've missed eggs. Nothing came off the coral when dipping.
The AEFW that did come off the corals were either eaten by the fish or sucked up. I placed them in a container and tried my regular dip "FM The Dip" and they basically died within seconds. So the dip works on adults at least. If the corals weren't as encrusted as they are I would've easily been able to dip every 48h, but most are more encrusted than branched at this point.

The new tank is coming along nicely though, painted the back black on monday (my custom blue-ish background was printed in way too low resolution, so black it is). It looks pretty sweet in all black though as the overflow melts in perfectly.
Today I've done all the PVC work I can do without stealing some stuff from my old tank.
"Lucky" I have some time to deal with the pests before the new tank is wet

dang sucks about the AEW, sounds like a bit of work ahead of you to get rid of the eggs but at least you’ve found them before switching to the bigger tank.
“A Reef in the sky” was also one of my favorite tanks and I loved the back ground that faded from dark to light blue to add a bit of depth. Shame it didn’t work out but at least the black will match your overflow!

I guess most SPS keepers will experience AEFW at some point in keeping Acros. Hopefully I’ll have success with Purge and then be able to transfer everything to the new tank later. Unfortunately I can’t start a treatment right away, for one I don’t have the product and I’m also going away for a weeks work on Sunday, so need to order and hopefully start when I get back.
Yeah the black looks good, 30” deep tank helps in that department as well! Will be soo much space

A couple of random pics taken during a WC today.
Still haven’t been able to start the Purge treatment, I need to time it right since I leave for a short vacation in two weeks time. I found a whole lot of AEFW eggs under a frag and superglued them, anything to slow them down!
Still only a couple of acros affected by the AEFW, luckily! Will probably start the treatment on Wednesday as I’ll leave on a Thursday and come home on a Tuesday. That way the second dose will be done before I leave and the third right when I get home. Risky though since I won’t be able to monitor alkalinity and other parameters during that time. Haven’t fully decided, but I’m not going to be home for 1 straight month in a row until December, and by then the infestation will probably be much worse! Maybe worth taking the risk...

Woke up to a dried up Mccosker's wrasse next to the tank
It had managed to jump out between the screen top and the glass, where I keep the fan mounted due to heat issues... It had obviously been there all night, as it was completely rock hard and dry.

I use a different dip, sort of experimental I guess, raised potassium, a couple of dips and cleans and I beat them, good luck with your treatment.
Thank you! If Purge doesn’t succeed I guess dipping and cleaning will be next. Let’s hope for the best though!

First dose is in the tank!
Initial impressions: smells nice! Smells kind of like mint-Tea or something similar. My sand sifting starfish started acting a bit “strange” as soon as the Purge hit the water, it’s suddenly very active/stressed. Corals seem unaffected, fish seem slightly bothered by the murky water, but nothing more.
I’ve removed the skimmer cup and the active carbon.
Next dose is in a week, we’ll see how long the water stays murky after this initial dose! Hopefully since my infestation seems quite small, this will work wonders

Final dose in the tank, used the rest of the bottle which adds up to about a 2x dose. I've seen some smaller specimen of AEFW this last week, but haven't seen any eggs (well, hard to see when all corals are stuck to the rocks...) Fingers crossed!
Most corals are alive, but slightly stressed due to high nutrients and somewhat changing water quality I guess. Add on to this that the AEFW still are present and well not exactly a recipe for success :/ Hopefully this will be okay going forward when I can start using the skimmer as usual and adding some carbon + regular water changes.

Small but long due update!
Old tank:
Dosing Purge didn’t help my problem with AEFW, I won’t go as far as saying that it made it worse BUT it definitely didn’t improve the conditions of the corals, and the flatworms still exist.
Growth stopped completely (understandably) and coloration took a turn for the worse. I had a few instances of bleaching, and a few acros experienced some TN. This could of course be unrelated, but the timing is suspect.
I’ve decided to go back to flatworm stop (KZ) and after a month of dosing that once or twice daily the corals are starting to get their colors back, and I see actual growth again on some pieces. Difficult to analyzethe flatworm population, but I occasionally find small clusters of eggs, and the occasional baste of corals usually result in finding a couple grown worms. As long as corals are doing well though the worms are manageable.
I added a new mccosker’s wrasse, only to find it with a spine injury (broken) a day later it was gone a day after that.
Also added a small aussie wild Acro colony, which has a wicked yellow coloration, almost highlighter in appearance.
Also seen a couple of nice changes in other corals, this one has gone from blue base with green polyps and a hint of yellow in the corallites to a pink base instead of blue.
New tank:
Not much to update really, the area where the tank will sit is still being built, so I’m waiting on that. In the meantime I’m “curing” LR and waiting on the last we pieces for the tank. For example I’ve been waiting for 6 weeks for a new MP40 wet side for one of the pumps I’ve bought. Tech wise that is the last “need” and anything else I add will be purely “want”.

The rocks in the middle are seeding for the new tank, I’ll slowly introduce more and more of the LS I have cycling in a bucket. In preparation for the new tank
