Blackout due to Cyano Safe?

We’ve had a cyano outbreak in our reef tank and it was suggested that we keep the lights off for three days to correct this issue.

We are feeding less, only use RO/DI, barely run any whites, reds or greens, and do 15% weekly water changes with IO Reef Crystials, so it seems the three day blackout is necessary.

My question is: will the three day blackout harm my soft corals? We have green sinularia, some lp leather toadstools, devil’s hand, zoas, kenyas, mushrooms, etc. It appears one mushroom might be splitting and we’re curious if it would be detrimental to do a blackout while it might possibly be in the process of splitting.

It should be fine. However, usually cyano is simple to beat with chemiclean or similar which is less stressful on the tank. What is the phosphate and nitrate level in the tank (and what kits are you using)
