So I have some problems with green dust algae, it is currently overrunning my new nano 10g tank. Would a 3 day blackout do any good for killing off the algae. Theres no coral currently in this tank

If its new a new tank I'd just get a couple trochus snails and let the algae run its course.

I have 3 astrea snails currently tons of bumblebee snails (which from what I know don't care about algae) it is a newer tank I got it june 20th I beleive (the tank was cycled but I think I caused a mini cycle due to me scrapping the live rock that came in it). This is the grossest new tank syndrome I've seen in a while.

I'm also thinking it's over populated. This tank was a display tank at my lfs it's only 10g and it came with a
baby occelaris
Blue velvet damsel
Domino damsel
Scooter blenny
5 blue leg hermits
15 assorted snails

Agreed. Both of those damsel types get rather large as well.

I think I'll move the domino and the blenny to my main tank.. the velvet one originally was in my main tank but it was harrassing my frogspawn to the point it almost died. So I'm going to give the domino damsel a shot

Sounds like you added a lot of fish quickly. A bad case of the uglies is honestly expected. That sounds overstocked for an established tank and way overstocked for a brand new tank.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking. This was sold as a you take everything here bundle. It was a poorly maintained display. I got the fusion 10g w light, the fish, the live rock for 100$ so I jumped on that deal. I've been iffy about moving any to my main display tank but I think I'll have to

Good deal for sure. You could also consider selling the fish on your local reef club or take them into your lfs for store credit.
