Blackout refugium walls/baffles?

Hello,
I'd like to hear how those of you with sumps with refugiums keep algae from growing in the other compartments. Has anyone found a cheap way to black out refugium walls so algae won't grow on the skimmer, sump walls, etc? Maybe a hardware store that sells thin black acrylic cheap or something? And then just use some silicone to attach it to the baffles? Thanks,

my lfs sells fish tank liners typically meant for backgrounds. You could probably cut that to size and stick it to your sump glass
