Once I finish the remainder of the Blackworms in the keeper, I need to find another place to store them.... THEY ARE BANNED FROM THE FRIDGE!!!! It was mostly a space issue, but the last straw was a container of yogurt falling into the keeper.
For those of you who feed live Blackworms and don't keep them in the fridge, what do you do?

I kept mine in the unfinished basement in a ten gallon with a bubbler. Fed spirulina flakes and rinsed every other day in RO.

I just buy frozen. Who banned them?
I'd like to feed them live worms if I can. Banned by the "boss of the kitchen".

I keep my worms in a plastic container that seals tight. They usually last about a month, which is when the last get eaten. I rinse them daily.
I offered to use a container with a lid, but again it's a space issue and more so with the holidays just around the corner.

I don't have a basement, but I do have a small workshop out back. The boiler is in the same room so it stays warm in there year round, that will probably be the best place for them once I figure what to do.

I think these worms are a cold water species. I'd be hesitant to put them in too much heat (65*F+). They'll chew through the oxygen in the water and would probably spoil quicker. My basement was cool and dark and right next to my RODI tank and the waste drain.

I keep mine in the fridge, last a month. My fish including my mandarin love them.

I have a thread on here explaining my set up. It's cycled so no different than any other tank so no water changes or very few.

Basically keep them in my a/c garage and have a large flat plastic container about 6 inches deep. Hold about 5g, just drilled it with a bulkhead drains into a 5g bucket with bio balls and small return pump keeps it circulating. This keeps it oxygenated. Water stays pretty cold is guess 58 ish.

Thanks for info everyone, I'm ready to try some worms. Can we "grow " like earthworms? Paper, compost etc? I used earthworm casings in my organic gardening and kinda wondered if they'd work.

buy yourself a mini fridge for your mantown or garage
extra beer storage also

My wife bought me one of those dorm room fridges. Just showed up at the door one day from Amazon. I think I got the hint
I think I'll do this and get all the food for the fish out of the main fridge and keep it all in one spot.

Just spoke with local store, she said keep barely covered with TAP water in container, keep pitcher of same separate in fridge, rinse 1x a day with cold water, 1 week to ten days!! FYI

Great info, can just see Tom letting me put That kinda set-up on his workbench in his man-cave lol (love the set-up)
