Apologies for the poor picture, but this guy has been in our tank for a while and has been growing - it looks like a rock anenome, but without any color and tentacles like aptasia coming out of the middle. I don't think it's aptasia though, since it has such a large base like a mushroom / rock anenome / plate. If anything touches it will retract quickly and pull under the nearby rock, so it's like it has a long foot. It has stayed in this area for about a month, it's about the size of a quarter around and the tentacles are maybe as tall as a dime at most.
The tank has 100lbs of live rock from tampa bay saltwater, so it was in the gulf of mexico for a while before it was shipped to me. Got lots of great hitchhikers so far, just a couple of pistol shrimp and aptasia that got cleared up early on but tons of bio luminescence at night, both in the water stream as well as on the rocks. Lots of brittle stars, crabs, fans, sponges, etc.
This little guy is not very pretty but still kinda neat, any ideas what it may be?
