Really can't believe I still have this guy! Found it while digging through some old reef boxes of mine. Thought I sold it to he honest. Super happy I found it! Still has a 12K Reeflux bulb in it even! Used for 3 months according to the note I tapped to the fixture.

This is a Lumenarc mini stealth pendant for those that don't know. This was from 2007 or so.

This pretty much made my year to be honest!

Here's some pics. I'll post more once I clean it up;Joyful

That is a nice find... It looks clean too.

You will probably not be able to the bulb anymore, but Phoenix 14k is a nice double ended bulb.

Edit: some dude in our local club was selling three of the DE minis and three of the SE mini... three for $100. I bought all six and shelved them... could not pass them up at $33 each. They were clean too.

Thanks!

Really wasn't planning on using the bulb. Just kinda surprised I kept it in their honestly. I have a couple bulbs on the way to try out.

Any tips going from Kessil/T5 to this? I'm hoping I can still fit a couple T5s over the tank to be honest. 40 breeder is the tank size. Not worried about heat at all. The tank is in my basement. Never went from led to halide. I'm thinking good things will happen though.

I had 4 Lumenarc reflectors over my 300g with Phoenix 14,000k lamps. Absolutely loved those reflectors. And I still love the look of halides over a reef tank. Beats LEDs any day.

Start at 4 hours and add on 30 minutes every day or two so that you are up to 8-11 hours in a few weeks.

If you want T5 too, then look for a used Giesemann, AquaMedic or Hamilton that has them already in the fixture. I do not run any T5s over my acropora reef. I do have some VHOs over my newer 225g reef (just 5-6 months), but I only run the Halides for 5 hours on purpose since there is not much in the tank yet since it is just getting over the uglies and coralline growing. All of this said, you won't need the T5s... that is enough light alone to both grow, illuminate and render color.

I'm really glad people remember these! And I agree about the look of halides over a reef! Something natural and soothing about the light they emit. It's really hard to explain honestly!

Thanks a bunch jda! It's been quite some years since I've used halides. I'll start with just this and supplement if needed.

They really were the reflectors to have back then. Unless space was limited, PFO was the choice in those setups;)
Lol. I am running 2 PFO MH pendants over my tank. I would be running Reef Optics 3 pendants if I could find some, tand better reflector. Represent the old school.
Nice find on the reflector OP!

I'm actually running Reef Optix 3's over my tank right now. I have another old set that needs to be sanded and repainted. Very decent lights....

Very cool seeing these older reflectors still being used. I took a part the Lumenarc so I can sand blast and paint the outside panels. Think I'm going to paint them silver.

I got the Lumenarc hung yesterday. I really like it! Used a Phoenix 14k 250w bulb. The tank is a bit dim on the sides with just the MH. I think I'll add a second MH and see how it looks. Looking for something used to save me a few bucks. Hopefully I'll have something by this weekend or next. I could always use a Kessil each side for now if I feel it needs it. Here's some pics.

This is what I had. One Kessil 360we, one Kessil 160 and 4xT5s. I had 2 360we but one got wet and quit working.

This is what I'm using now. Just the halide.

Open to suggestions on this setup for sure. I haven't used metal halide for about 8 years now. I do like the color for sure. Just seems a bit dim on the sides to me. Thoughts?

Edit,
Sorry about the dirty glass. Working on that next. I just got back from vacation last night and wanted to getvthe lighting swapped first.
