Blasto Advise please

Hi,
I picked this up at the LFS. What kind of Blasto is this? a Beautiful Pink with Purple and Neon Green mouth.
Second I was wondering about the cut. Ive never had a Blasto before so I have nothing to go by.
Do you think the stalk needs to be cut? Of course I want it to grow and make babies as quickly as possible. And if I should cut it about how far?
Ive tried to do some research but have found none about its reproduction.
If someone would share their wisdom it would be greatly appreciated

Appears to be B. merletti, and no the stalk does not need to be cut.

If you want it to grow flat on a rock, then yes you'll want to cut the stalk down, but otherwise they'll sprout babies next to the existing polyps.

I agree with the B merletti...Instead of being flat on the sandbed, I would find a nice niche in some rocks in the lower end of the tank and tuck them in there. You'll enjoy them more if you can easily see the "face".

thanks, I love the color so much.
Ive been going back and forth with hubby on this one. I dont like the long stalk, he likes the long stalk. So the deal is If I found out they would reproduce easier on a flatter surface he would have to chop them, if not then he wins..

I agree with tucking them in the rock structure. That way you can enjoy the face and have the added security of knowing those rambling pesky snails and crabs can't knock the over! Where they usually land (in my case) face down in the sand or worse yet on top of another killer coral! Debbie
