Blasto growth

Hi I just picked up this frag and would like to know if I should leave it I the plug in the sand or take off and glue on rock? Will it form it's own skeleton if left in the sand? Thanks

My blastos love It In the sand - we left them on the disc

I would leave it on disk on the sand. They are low light and will produce additional heads along the sides of old heads. Have same basic growth pattern as acan lords.

I took mine off the plug and put it on it's own rock. Very glad I did as the growth was ten fold.

Putting it on a rock was the same as leaving it on disk. All you did was basically give it a larger frag disk. Blasto create their own skeleton. The size of the pedestal would only matter to keep it from being buried in sand. Either rock or pedestal or neither makes no difference in the speed of growth as long as the heads do not get buried.

Thanks for the replies. I guess I'll leave it in the sand. I've been reading about how slow they grow hopefully mine will spread a little quicker

From what ive heard and read this week blastos are actually found only on vertical walls in nature ..i never new that .

Yeah I never of that , figure it would grow just about any where , horizontal or vertical
