So I have a blasto that’s been doing this for two months any ideas? Seems like it’s stuck in a feeding mode. Thanks all

well it's odd but without some tank parameters and light levels, water flow etc hard to offer much. Has it always been in the same spot? Have you tried moving to a new location with brighter light and maybe different flow level?

Sorry tank parameters are
1.025
Ph 8.0
Ca 400
Kh 7
Temp 76.5
That was two days ago and I just did water change haven’t tested again yet. I did move it from the rock it was on cause it started doing this. I figure it was too much flow so I moved it down to the sandbed.

What kind of lighting?

What size tank? What are you using for water movement?

You also mention it has been like this for a couple months. How long have you had it and I am guessing it looked more normal prior to this?

Fluval sea 32gal tank with the Fluval smart led that came with the tank. I have the main return and 1 hydro 425gph.

SO I was looking at the Fluval sea marine 3.0 36" fixture following specs:
Features:
  • This 36 inch light has legs that can expand to 48 inches
  • This light is controlled with a the Bluetooth in your Android or iOS (Apple) device (phone or tablet)
  • 46 watts
  • 25,000K color temp
  • At 3": PAR=381, LUX=16,720. At 12": PAR=94, LUX=4160. 1950 lumens.
According to this PAR at 12" is just under 100.

Your Tank is 15" deep? Light is 42W not 46 like the 36" version, so your probably on the low side for light as I think the 32" tank setup you have is slightly lower power than the 36" model. Rough guess is you might be hitting 75 PAR on the sand bed?

Maybe not enough light? I would be shooting for 150 at least.

I’ll try to move it back up on the rock work slowly and see what happens I really need to get a par meter or rent one. I’m still learning about par and figuring it out. Thanks so I’m guessing it’s trying to get more light. Thanks
