Anybidea what could cause that? I have had it for one year, same spot,light.... All parameters in check( nitrates high but always have been) I started with a frag ( one head) and than came to 6-8 heads.

i have crabs... never seen any pests! first i thought mushroom was attacking my blasto so removed it. got even worst! not sure what to do now.
would dipping help? feeding?

I've had the same thing happen to me. In my case I would lose a head or sometimes multiple heads over night. I'm thinking there's something eating it because I have a group of about 12 unique blasto frags that are in the same area and the rest will be unaffected.

I would cut off the dead parts and hope that the rest of the colony pulls through.

i check my parameters 1-2 a week... the only thing what higher are nitrates.it's been always way off.
similar thing happened before with few other corals like hammers, toadstool or duncan. toadstool came back from the dead and looks fine! hammers died....duncan was dipped last night if anything comes out.unfortunately didn't notice anything...
one thing what i see sometimes are little snails or something on my glass! they are only visible when lights are off.

When i experienced die off from my blastos like that it was alkalinity swings. I was also keeping the alkalinity to high in terms of how many nutrients I had in the tank as well. It wreaked havoc in the tank. Hope it turns around for you.
