This is my first Blastomussa and it looks a little...puny? It arrived Wednesday night (48 hours ago) and I noticed 2 heads were dead on the frag and had been dead a while. The remaining heads look alive but I'd like opinions since I have nothing to compare to except pictures. It's currently (temporarily) on the sand bed in alternating med/low flow.

Tidal garden has a video. About them on YouTube. They are always informative.
 
One of the easiest corals I've yet to have thriving in my tank. Low to med light, low to med flow.
Yours looks ok. Just give it some time to settle in [emoji2]

Probably just getting adjusted to the tank, if it is still like this after a week then I would be worried.
 
I also think that it is just settling in. If you start to notice that the flesh is receding in, I would begin to be concerned.
 
After watching that video I'm wondering if my lighting might be a factor. Are they OK in shade? I'm running LED's maxing out at 27% white and 30% blue right now, slowly raising over the next few weeks.
 
Kinda looks like blasto merletti. Which are smaller polyps than the wellsi has. They generally grow faster and are hardier. As mentioned above just give it time. As long as you have good stable water. Low light and flow. It should bounce back. The dead polyps are independent so should not affect the live ones.
 
I've been keeping the Blastomas Merletti for 6yrs. I've kept mine under CF, T5HO and now LED's. 15% max whites and 60% max blues. No issues, just slowly acclimate it. Going from low to high if you wish.
