Bleach and RO/DI

Well, I just had to have my well pump replaced and it was mandatory they put bleach in the well.

Now my water has been smelling like bleach for 2 days.

I need to make some water but my question is will the RO take out the bleach?
I think no and will have to wait but just looking for advice on this.
And also, is their a way to test for bleach other than my nose?

You can turn on all the faucets in the house and let them run for a while. That should get rid of it fairly quickly.

Add Prime to any water you make for awhile.

The chlorine may damage the RO membrane, which is why there is a carbon cartridge before the RO.

I'd wait till it clears.

Thanks for the replies.
I'll wait it out.

I did forget to mention I have a very big GAC filter for the radon in my house. It is being bypassed for now until the bleach smell is gone.
But now I feel better knowing that will also help if there are traces of bleach.

Yes, it will take out bleach. That's why it is there in an RO/DI system.
