I recently inhareted an old reef tank and it has a permanently affixed live rock wall across the back that's in rough shape. Can I bleach cure the rock within the tank without damaging the aquarium

Welcome to R2R and thank you for your first post! I don't see any issue with bleach curing the rock in place - I bleach used aquariums on a regular basis. I try to use vinegar on plastics, but bleach shouldn't bother the rock or the aquarium.

Hopefully others will chime in soon!

Yes, sodium hypochlorite is bleach, and when it dries it becomes simple sodium chloride eventually when dried out. Just rinse, and if you're worried use some prime by seachem or similar to lock up the bleach. But usually just rinsing well with tap water and letting it completely dry for a few days is sufficient.
