Bleach for cleaning dry rock

All i want is regular bleach.... now every brand has an added component or a marketing thing...

Clorox now says added with 'cloromax'.

Which brand is plain bleach? Can I just buy HD brand?

When I was bleaching my dry Rock I just got the cheapest bleach available that didn't have any perfumes in it

I ended up using dollar store bleach because the grocery stores only had scented at the time. I’m not sure if germacidal bleach is different that the original or just a fancy name they wanted to add to have a new label.

Added a gallon of lowes regular bleach...in approx 1:10 ratio to clean dry rock of dead organics....

No funny smell so that's bleach only

All bleach is germicidal, that's just irritating marketers preying on the general public's lack of chemistry and microbiology knowledge. However, I would strongly suggest that you avoid the Chlorox with "chloromax" - chloromax is polymer formulation that apparently increases the wetability of the bleach on surfaces. The company doesn't disclose what these polymers are; they might be nothing to be concerned about, but then again they might be difficult to remove from the rock's surface (i.e., they might not easily rinse off).

So in an abundance of caution, I'd use the store brand, since it's plain 'ole bleach.

Check the paint prep section.. they have an outdoor / deck prep bleach that's just sodium hypochlorite, water and nothing else.
